Thermography (often referred to as “Thermal Scanning”) is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to “see and measure” thermal energy emitted from an object. The infrared camera is a non-contact piece of equipment that detects infrared energy (heat) and converts it into an electronic signal that is processed to produce a thermal image on the equipments monitor.
Water, mold, pests and electrical wires all produce thermal energy that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Integrity Inspection Services Inspectors cannot see through walls or ceilings, but; we have the capability to potentially see what is under the surface before hiring a Contractor to perform destructive testing without knowing the actual location or the problem.
Not all Inspection Companies carry this equipment; it is expensive and the companies that have the equipment typically charge a fee if they use it. Although Thermal Scanning is offered as a separate service; as a courtesy, Integrity Inspections Services uses this equipment as a part of their routine building inspection process.
